You can spend a few hours a month to a few hours a week conducting research on endemic species information, assisting our fundraising and communications team, planning an event, or helping out in the office.
Opportunities for volunteers are change frequently depending upon the projects we are working at the time. Our volunteer program is restricted to persons age 18 or over who can make a regular commitment.
Student volunteers
Our internship program has helped students interested in biology, conservation science, nonprofit administration, photography, and geographic information systems to gain experience working in the field of biodiversity conservation. Students have the opportunity to play a critical role in conservation by completing senior thesis projects with IC, conducting literature research on conservation issues, assisting in prioritization projects, or by being involved in the daily administrative activities of our nonprofit organization.
Professional volunteers
There are occasional opportunities for experienced professionals to work with Island Conservation on specific projects. Such projects are more likely to be associated with management, administration and strategic planning.
