Today is Endangered Species Day! We have a wonderful way for you to take immediate action that could protect vulnerable species around the world.
The United States is close to making the most significant investment in wildlife conservation in a generation, but more support is needed to make it a reality. The bipartisan Recovering America’s Wildlife Act (RAWA) will dedicate nearly $1.4 billion dollars annually to locally led efforts to restore our country’s wildlife. This funding will support a variety of conservation actions, including helping species that rely on islands in U.S. states and territories.
Your action is needed to get this bill passed into law! The goal is to get a full vote on this in the House and Senate by Memorial Day (May 30th). Together, we can make this happen.
One of the most direct actions you can take is to reach out to your representatives and tell them to pass the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act. Beyond this, any sort of advocacy can help raise awareness and get this passed: social media posts, letters to editors, etc.
You can find how to contact your representative HERE and senator HERE to tell them to pass the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act to save our nation’s wildlife.
You can sign onto the National Wildlife Federation’s (NWF) call to action HERE and they will pass along your support to your representatives.
You can sign NWF’s digital endangered species card HERE and it will be sent to the leaders of the Senate and House of Representatives.
If you represent a business or organization, you can join over 1,700 other businesses and organizations in supporting this action by signing the letter HERE.
