Linden Brown
Island Restoration Specialist
Linden grew up in an outdoors family on the East Coast of Australia, where he completed a BEnvSc (Hons) at the University of Wollongong. He felt the immediate need to spend more time outside, so spent six months volunteering on Raoul Island, followed by three months on Hauturu/Little Barrier Island. These experiences ignited a passion for both conservation in New Zealand, and spending time in wild and remote places. This has led to him working in a variety of conservation roles over the past ten years, including measuring the effectiveness of predator control efforts, the breeding success of penguin colonies, and biodiversity monitoring for the Department of Conservation.
In his spare time Linden enjoys being in the outdoors near his home of Hokitika, where you might find him kayaking on the local rivers, rock climbing, or running around in the mountains.
