Baudouin des Monstiers
Project Manager
Baudouin earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from the Sorbonne University, Paris, France, before completing a master’s degree in ecology, evolution, and conservation from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, where he studied Alpine ungulates and bird ecology. Baudouin comes to Island Conservation with more than five years of experience in invasive species in the French Southern and Subantarctic Territories and a strong passion for remote island ecosystems and endangered seabirds’ conservation. Baudouin has served various roles on Island Conservation’s projects in French Polynesia, Kingdom of Tonga, Wallis and Futuna, and French Caribbean. When not on the field, he is based on a small stone house in the mountains, or enjoying long-distance hiking or canoeing in cold lands, climbing, reading, or searching for sites faaaar from human beings.
