Position Title: Palau Program Manager
Employment Type: Full Time Position
Purpose of the Role: To establish strong and functional partnerships and develop opportunities that lead to the implementation of invasive vertebrate eradication projects within Palau.
Reporting Lines: The position reports to a Project Director. The position may at times be responsible for direct reports.
Location: The Palau Program Manager will be stationed in Palau preferably in or close to Koror. The position will require travel within Palau and at times internationally.
Responsibilities: Key responsibilities of the Palau Program Manager include developing and maintaining partnerships and establishing the conditions necessary for implementation of Island Conservation’s invasive vertebrate eradication strategy. The Palau Program Manager will also help refine Island Conservation’s Palau strategy, identify new project opportunities, identify and solicit funding, and support Island Conservation staff in the planning and implementation of invasive vertebrate eradication projects in Palau.
A full set of responsibilities for this position are listed in Table 1 below.
Necessary Attributes for Position: The successful candidate must be self-motivated and be able to demonstrate a clear record of success working effectively with partners at all levels from government to the community as well as an ability to communicate clearly and think strategically. A demonstrated ability to realize productive and positive partner meetings is also key. A good knowledge and understanding of Palauan culture is essential. The position requires a strong commitment to Island Conservation’s mission, impeccable integrity, and a keen sense of humor.
