Jasmine Buerano

Jasmine (known to many as Jazzy) is a storyteller whose viewfinder has been fixed on people, places, and culture since she can remember. She grew up nestled under the Ko’olau mountains and nurtured by the ocean on the island of O’ahu in Hawai’i. Passionate about ocean conservation, Jazzy spent the majority of her early career back home in Hawai’i, working with nonprofits like The Multiscale Environmental Graphical Analysis Lab and Sustainable Coastlines Hawai’i, illustrating their missions to a global audience through photography, writing, and a hint of graphic design. Her childlike stoke, keen eye for storytelling, and passion for connecting with others have brought her around the world, introducing her to many faces in many places, and have become a north star for how she navigates life. At the moment, she is based in Whakatāne, Aotearoa, learning about a new place and culture that somehow still feels like home to her.
