Rachel Swick
Temporary Data Specialist
Rachel Swick has a proud background in both conservation and data science, with an excitement for using technology to inform solutions to environmental problems. She recently earned a Master of Environmental Data Science (MEDS) from the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She also holds a BA in Environmental Biology from DePauw University. Upon graduation from DePauw, she worked on San Clemente Island as a botanical restoration specialist. Her time on San Clemente Island was hugely impactful, combining her love of the outdoors with conservation and botany. However, it was while working on San Clemente Island she noticed the impact of poor data management on long term project success, and discovered the value in data driven solutions, and effective data management. She is excited to make use of her data science tool kit on Island Conservation projects.
