Julie Alach
Community Liaison
Julie grew up in rural New Zealand, where she developed a strong connection to the outdoors—spending much of her time in forests, on farms, or with animals. After working overseas as a veterinary technician, she returned to New Zealand to pursue a degree in Biodiversity Management, which led her to become actively involved in local community conservation projects. For several years, she worked as a Quarantine Officer for Biosecurity New Zealand, performing inspections on imported cargo and working along side the commercial shipping industry to raise biosecurity standards. Julie is currently based in Orewa, North Auckland, where she continues her passion for biodiversity by volunteering on Kiwi conservation projects. In her free time, she enjoys many outdoor activities, and spends a lot of time sea kayaking around the inner Hauraki Gulf.
