Jordan Sibley
Temporary Data Specialist
Jordan is an environmental data scientist passionate about using analytical tools to support scientific research and develop sustainable solutions for marine and coastal ecosystems. She earned a B.S. in Aquatic Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she worked as a research assistant studying sandy beach ecology and as a wetland field technician in Southern California salt marshes. These hands-on experiences inspired her to pursue data science to expand her impact. She went on to earn a Master of Environmental Data Science from the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management, where she learned a variety of programming languages and deepened her skills in spatial analysis, technical writing, and data visualization. During her program, she collaborated with The Nature Conservancy to analyze intertidal species ranges along the California coast. Her work tracked historic range shifts, modeled future habitat suitability, and culminated in an interactive web application to support conservation planning. Jordan is excited to bring her experience and scientific programming skills to Island Conservation, helping manage critical data and make it more impactful for conservation and communities.
